The last day of school is always one full of excitement, anticipation, and often a little sadness about the end of the school year. This year, Baylor was more than ready to be done with school and moving on to summertime, but Mollie was sad at leaving her teacher and not seeing as much of her friends.
We had a rough last week of school, so I used my letter board to keep us hopeful for the days ahead.

Earlier in the week all the second graders made tie dye t-shirts, and it is tradition for them all to wear them on the last day of school. Here is Mollie in hers, along with a rockin' hair style of her own creation.
Baylor wanted to wear his favorite shirt for his last day of fourth grade.
They are getting so big!
I am just so glad that they are such good friends!
While they were at school for the half day, I switched the letter board to something a little more celebratory. The kids like hearing Alice Cooper's "School's Out for Summer" as they are getting into the car on the very last day, so I thought it was fitting to put it on the letter board as well.
I'll be honest, it was a pretty rough year of school for our family, but we made it through and have learned a lot of lessons along the way. And really, that's all you can do when a not-good year comes your way.
Happy summer!
