Ever since our recent stay in the hospital, Baylor has been talking about elevators nonstop. He mentions them at least once a day, usually in reference to when he rode them at the hospital (we know this because he sometimes mentions "baby"). Rarely, however, does he get to ride them, though, so yesterday's trip to the mall was a real treat for him.
We rode the mall's main elevator up to the second floor for lunch, then back down to do some more shopping, but he had been such a good boy for the trip (and in life in general) that I wanted to treat him to an extra ride. So, on our way out, we stopped off in
Younkers and Baylor and I rode the elevator together.
First, "butt"! (He got to push the button.)
"Two!"
(Amalia slept the whole time, unaffected by the excitement around her.)
Once we got to the second level, he and I got off and let some other people go down. He then got to push the button again, this time commenting "red" and "V" (the down arrow looked like a V and it had a red lighted ring around it).
"One!"
Yeah, he wanted to go on it again, and there were some tears when he found out we were done. But I think he enjoyed his little treat, and it is a nice memory for me to have shared with him.
