The Clock That Chimes

If you were to run into Baylor these days, there is only one thing he would want to talk to you about:  clocks.  Clocks that chime, in particular.  He first fell in love with them at Festival when he heard the big clock near city hall chime.  Then he found out that Oma has TWO chiming clocks at her house!!  One, a giant grandfather clock - which Baylor initially called a "grandmother clock" - and another smaller one.  And now he is a boy obsessed.

He talks about it non-stop, asks other people to talk about it to each other, and even asked me to make up a story about clocks today.  The songs chimed, the hammers that hit the chimes, the keys you have to use to wind up the clocks ... it is all part of the magic for him.

Seriously, look at that face!  Such joy!

Yes, sometimes it's a little overwhelming, his doggedness in talking about clocks and chimes.  But he loves it so much and his little face just lights up when I "sing" the "chime song" for him.  So you just have to smile when he brings it up ... again, and again, and again.
