Birthday Party Fun

Last Saturday, we took my son to his friend Liam's first birthday party, and boy was it a blast! The boys haven't seen each other in months, so there was a bit of apprehension upon their first meeting again ... well, on Little B's part anyways. Liam was more concerned about getting a band aid off his toe.

Liam showing off his skills ... he is standing on his own and walking now! Such a little man.

We went inside for a spell and my little man got to try out some of Liam's toys. There were three dogs at the party, Pepper Ann (Liam's doberman/standard poodle mix), Bess (a Boston terrier), and Lotus (a chocolate lab puppy - who went on to eat a baby wipe covered in frosting). My son was fascinated by the dogs and just wanted to stare at them.
"Dad, did you see that?! Did you see what just went by?!"

He got to try out Liam's Thomas the Train chair, further convincing me that he would LOVE a chair or couch of his own.

Finally, it was time for birthday cake and Liam got to have his very own!

His mommy, Marji, made the red frosting especially for him, but I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it.

Clean up on aisle 1!

While the birthday boy got cleaned up, Little B tried to take down the tent.

Then he and Daddy played fetch with Pepper Ann (which later resulted in a wicked case of allergy-induced pink eye for my husband). Little B loved seeing the big dog chase after the stick and make all sorts of noises!

After Liam was all cleaned up, he got to enjoy some of his birthday cake and a little side of ice cream.

What an adorable little man!

My son spent more time in the grass that day than ever, but he didn't seem to mind it as much as he has lately. It could be, perhaps, because it was cut nice and short and didn't tickle his legs much, but we'll never know.

Seeing Liam toddle around inspired Big B to encourage Little B to work on his walking skills. Hanging on to daddy's shorts is very stabilizing.

Little B started getting tired, so we had to get going so he could get a nap. Hopefully we'll get to see Liam (and his parents) sometime very soon!

We got Ellie one of those chairs for her birthday. She really likes it too. I think it was a good idea to get one.
