Oma's Birthday Happenings

Mom and Christine came over the morning of Mom's birthday to help put up some decorations in Mollie's room.  Of course, we had to take time for a little silliness.  Bless her heart, Mollie just couldn't get on her zebra facing the right way.

But she sure was proud of herself anyways.

Once we finished up at our house, we headed on over to Oma's to help her celebrate her special day.

Mollie helped Oma empty the lemons out of her coffee table centerpiece.

Oma tried to get her to put them back ...

... but Mollie was pretty excited to deliver them back to her.

And, of course, deliver a kiss to the birthday girl.

While Baylor napped, the ladies stopped to pose for a picture ...

... then practiced their smiling.

Mollie was pretty excited to get up on her step stool.

After nap time was over, we headed out to Carrabbas for dinner.  Baylor was bummed that we weren't at our usual table, the one closest to the kitchen ... all the poor boy wanted to see was the fire on the grill.  When Oma held him up for her birthday picture, he finally got a glimpse of it and he was mesmerized.

After dinner we headed back to my parents' house for presents and dessert.

The kids got Mom a glitter-coated birthday card.

But since her brother was taking over all the helping duties, Mollie moved on to other pursuits ... like raiding Aunt Christine's yarn stash.

Dad cracked Mom up with the birthday card he got for her.

And he kept Mollie busy with a little pat-a-cake.

Once the gifts were opened, it was time for birthday cake.  Baylor got to help put in the candles.

And he smiled through the singing of "Happy Birthday".

Then he and Oma blew out the candles.

Finally it was time to dig in!

Even Mollie got to try Aunt Christine's delicious creation (yellow cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry buttercream filling).

Baylor alternated between using his fingers ...

... and trying to maneuver his fork.

Happy birthday, Mom!  We hope you enjoyed your special day!
