The Quarantine: Scarred for Life

In the midst of the illness, my mom was able to come over for a little while the other day and give Baylor and Mollie some much-needed Oma time.  While she was here, Baylor asked me to build a Lego tower that went all the way to the ceiling.  With Oma's assistance, we were able to do just that.  And get a picture of it!

Baylor did not appreciate Oma turning the camera on him, though.  Which is weird, because lately he's been a total camera hog.

Baylor wanted to get a picture of it with his camera as well, but sadly his camera was out of batteries.

Mollie was pretty impressed by the whole Lego tower extravaganza.

But I didn't want to be stuck there holding it forever, and Mom had to get going ... so I let it go.  And it fell with impressive force and speed.  And boy, did Baylor cry!  He was so upset that I let the Lego tower fall that it has, apparently, scarred him for life; he has begged me not to build anymore tall towers.  Which is actually kind of a bummer because I thought it was a fun challenge.

As my mom was getting ready to leave, Baylor decided to tell her all about the tall tower.

And then he climbed in a laundry basket.

After Mom left, I had to blow my nose (stupid cold!) and went into the kitchen to do just that.  I was gone for about five minutes and could see at least one of the kids the entire time.  Granted, Mollie had shut the French doors to our living room, so the sound was a bit muffled (and I was blowing my nose so you can imagine that I couldn't hear much).  But I was still shocked at what I found after I washed my hands and rejoined my children.

Mollie decided to get into the laundry I was attempting to fold and put a pair of my underwear around her neck as a make-shift bib.  Awesome.

And Baylor decided that those baskets were his to do with what he wished, so he dumped all the laundry out of them, folded and not.  Ughhhh.

After I got the laundry mess picked up (and actually folded), we went into the kitchen for lunch.  Baylor decided to bring some Legos with us and told me more than once that they were "magnificent".  Such a funny kiddo!

Yes, we're getting a little stir-crazy around here being so cooped up, but I know that it won't last forever and that I am pretty lucky to get to spend time with two such wonderful children.
