Play Date at the Zoo!

Today was my son's first trip to the zoo! We met up with friends Lisa and Ellie, and Lisa's niece Maddie, for a lovely stroll. The little man woke up about two hours early and was not feeling very well - a fourth tooth is about to make an appearance - but he seemed to be in pretty good spirits when he saw all the kids.

In a temporary exhibit, we saw some pretty sweet wallabys.

The zoo employee working alerted us that this particular wallaby was carrying something special.

Yup! In her pouch she was carrying a four-month-old joey! So cute! He was about the size of a chihuahua.

Ellie and my son holding hands ... aren't they sweet?

Ellie wanted to hold hands a little longer, but Little B was a bit skeptical.

Isn't he cute?! At this point, he was pretty tired and getting kinda hungry, but he hung in there.

I have called my son "turtle" since just after he was born, so I had to snap a picture of the momma and baby turtles with my boy.

The bears were surprisingly awake and mobile considering it was relatively warm out and they are wearing fur coats. It was fun to watch them lumber around.

Both of the kids were really interested in watching the bears, and even in their strollers they could see the action pretty well.

All in all we had a great time! The little man fell asleep a while after lunch, so we left shortly after that. Hopefully we'll be back again very soon!
