Christmas 2012: Early Christmas Number Two

On the Sunday before Christmas, we got together with my parents and sister to open some of our gifts early.  We had some different plans for Christmas day and wouldn't have as much time to open gifts as usual.

Baylor started off with a bang ... an R2-D2 microviewer!  He has been in love with R2-D2 since he saw it in a Lego catalog, so he was beyond thrilled to have one of his own.

Mollie got to open her big gift from Aunt Christine first ... a new doll care set for Sally!  And, best of all, it's pink!  Just what she asked for!

The smile says it all.

It has a little car seat for Sally to ride in ...

... that can be hooked into a stroller ...

... or a swing!  (It also can be turned into a high chair, but I didn't get a picture of that.)

Oh, and the set came with an adorable little baby carrier!

While Mollie took care of Sally, the guys showed Baylor how to use his new microviewer.

Other people opened gifts, too.  Clothes, books, technology, and more!  (Didn't get many pictures of that, though.)

Baylor also got a new series of books to try out, The Magic Tree House, books one through four.  He was pretty excited to have something new to read.

Mollie got some new Calico Critter cats to play with, though everyone kept thinking they were mice or just about any other animal besides a cat.

Bryson got a hummus recipe book from my sister and got lost in that for a while.

Like father, like son.

Mom opened the Christmas gift we delivered from my in-laws ... a box of chocolates from Sweetlands!  Just the smell of it made her smile.

Soon enough we took a break and put the kids down for a rest/nap.  A few of us tried out a new game my parents and sister are into ... Scotland Yard.  Christine is naturally awesome at it, but I definitely struggled.

Even more so when Baylor got up from his rest early.  Isn't he a cutie, though?

Mom helped distract him a bit by reading some of his new books to him while we finished up the game.

Once Mollie woke up we went back to opening gifts.  Baylor found this one under the tree, and after shaking it, he quickly determined it was Legos!  Good detective work, kiddo!  Aunt Christine's been holding onto this one since August, just for you!

He was so thrilled, he spontaneously hugged her!

She even helped him put it together right away!

Mollie opened up a couple new bedroom sets for her dollhouse, and since her dollhouse was at our house, the new cat family got to try it all out.

In no time Baylor and Aunt Christine had put together Flo, Mater, and Lightning McQueen!

Then they began work on building more of the set.

Baylor also got Moon In My Room, an awesome lamp that shows the phases of the moon.  He actually had me take him into the pantry so he could really try it out.  Funny kiddo!

Mollie got a new pair of fuzzy pink slippers and had to try them on right away.

Like I said, other people opened up gifts, too.

Sometimes the kids even helped!

We all got some pretty awesome stuff from each other, but most of all it was wonderful just getting to spend time having fun together!  In my opinion, that was probably the best gift of all.
